GROSSMONT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
My Vision
Preparedness
My number one priority is preparing our kids for life after graduation.
Some students will go on to college while others will pursue a job in a vocational trade or technical career. Some might pursue a military career or a career in sports. I want to equip our schools so as to provide learning opportunities that allow our students to explore different areas thus aiding them in determining the direction they will seek after high school.

Quality
About half our students don't meet English and Math standards. We have a responsibility to our students to ensure their success. As a Board member, I will work to make sure we hire and retain quality teachers, coaches, and administrators that will work to build character and inspire our kids to learn.

Transparency & Trust
I am a big believer that education works best when there exists a collaborative relationship between the student, teacher, and parent. This relationship needs to be built on transparency and trust. Like a 3-legged stool that needs all 3 legs working together to stand, this student/teacher/parent relationship needs to work together to obtain the best results. If I am elected, I promise that my door will always be open to the parents and I will make sure your voices are heard. I promise to work to strengthening the partnership between the parents and the school.

Accountability & Fiscal Responsibility
It is the job of the Board to be accountable to the parents and to be fiscally responsible with all resources entrusted to the Board. As a Trustee, I promise not to approve any spending that does not support the GHUSD mission or does not impact student success in a positive manner. I promise to be transparent on why we made certain decisions. I also promise to be open to any input a parent might have regarding fiscal matters.

Student Safety
The students today are confronted daily with temptations and distractions unlike anything we faced. Because of this, student safety is of utmost importance to the Board. For our kids to excel in school, they need to feel safe physically, mentally, and emotionally. As a Trustee, I will ensure that student safety will always be a priority.

Improving The Culture
Our schools have become battlefields where adult agendas are fought. As a society, we have forgotten how to be civil and respect everyone's opinions. It is not only our responsibility to prepare our students for a career, but to model civility and create a culture where kids learn to work together in a respectful manner. As a Trustee, I promise to always be honest and transparent. I promise to work with others, whatever their beliefs or stance might be, in a respectful, professional manner. For the future success of our country, we need to restore civility and this starts with our kids.
